What to pack for flights- My Carry-on Essentials
Whenever I travel by plane, I have a set list of items that I make sure are in my carry-on. I prefer to bring a large tote so that I can use it on my trip as well. You can never go wrong with having an extra bag on hand, and I always find that I stuff in last-minute items into it.
Carry-on essentials-
For any flight
Magazine- While I am waiting at the gate or on the flight itself, I usually like to flip through something. You can bring a book as well!
Hand sanitizer- I prefer to use PURELL on a flight and in bathrooms because I don’t feel like my hand gets properly cleansed in a public restroom after touching a handle or turning off a sink.
Gum- my ears always pop and chewing gum helps.
Water- Hydration is key during a flight.
Headphones- are needed if you want to listen to music or shows or use the airlines in flight media entertainment. I love my Bose noise canceling headphones because they block out the sound of the airplane. They come in earphone
( my preference) or over the ear
(Ben’s preference). They are an investment, but I think they are worth the money.
For flights 4+ hours-
Neck pillow- I got this one from Muji and it was the best investment ever! You can loosen and tighten it, open it up if you want to lay in a certain way, turn it in different directions around your neck and smoosh the beads in the position you want depending on the firmness you wish.
Moisturizer- a travel size moisturizer is wonderful way to keep your skin hydrated throughout the flight. I generally don’t put on makeup before a flight and I moisturize when I feel like my skin is feeling dry. If you are wearing makeup on the flight I would recommend bringing eye makeup remover as well, in case your mascara smudges, you can take care of it without looking like a raccoon.
Water facial spray-a few spritzes of this and you will feel refreshed and hydrated! The moisturizer and water spray are a wonderful combination
Mouthwash– a toothbrush works as well but this is much easier and less messy. After sitting on a flight for a certain amount of hours your breath needs a refresh!
Warm socks- I like to take my shoes off on a plane and socks that are warm always make me feel more cozy.
Eye mask- If you want to sleep, an eye mask is key! Many flights turn on and off the lights for random food and drink runs and if you are sleeping that the light change will wake you up!
I hope you found this list helpful for your next flight!
